I hate routine. It allows no room to be spontaneous.
I miss being a backpacker. Bored? Just move to another city, country, etc.
But here I am back home. I'm stuck in another routine, just like the last one that drove me so mad that it sent me packing my bags and buying a one way ticket across the world.
Here's my current Monday-Friday life, summed up:
1. Wake up at 6:12 am. Yes, exactly 6:12.
2. Drag myself around for an hour before stopping at Tim Hortons and driving to work.
3. Work. 8 am - 5 pm. Perform mindless task such as data entry and filing a never shrinking stack of paperwork.
4. Drive home. Check Facebook. Eat.
5. Watch movies or play Wii fit with Carley.
6. Go to bed to do it all over again the next day.
Oh, and on Mondays... head to karaoke night, sing my heart out, and sometimes get a bit intoxicated, because hey, it's Monday. Okay, fine, that is one part of the routine I don't want to change.
I try to cram as much into my weekends as possible. They never last long enough.
I find myself applying for the same jobs that I've been applying to for the past 2 years and wondering if it's worth the effort, if one day they'll actually call back and maybe actually give me the opportunity to do the only job that I feel motivated to strive for... maybe someday.
